BABCIA (POLISH RESTAURANT)

BABCIA (POLISH RESTAURANT)

Babcia is Perth’s first modern, fine-dining Polish restaurant. Located on Railway Parade in West Leederville, the venue has a classic European interior, warm lighting and promises service with a smile. Founded by two Polish sisters who have a passion for European food, they’ve considered every detail to ensure an unforgettable experience. From the lacy, embroidered tablecloths to the desserts served on vintage crockery, every piece will make you nostalgic for a place the girl’s fondly remember: Babcia’s house.

My main aim for the restaurant is for it to be a warm, welcoming environment which differs greatly to dining options already existing in Perth. I’d want the interior to feel so far removed from casual Australian but to still feel approachable. To be classy, but not pretentious. To sprinkle some humour into the copy and imagery to add to the brand’s personality. I aimed to create a brand that appreciates and embodies Poland’s deep history of storytelling. I want the customers to step inside and feel like they’ve stepped into another country, and in turn stepped foot – into the home of Babcia.
